4. How do I purchase Defi products from outside Japan?
By any chance, do you accept an order over the Internet ? |
Sorry, we do not accept orders from overseas. Defi products are available only through our overseas retail stores.

| 5. I have a set of STI gauges . . . |
We are sorry to tell you that we have no responsibility for STI Genome and STI gauses, which is an exclusive SUBARU gauge, nor do we know the contents of specification.
But SUBARU Automotive Accessories would be able to answer your enquiry better than we do.

| 6. Would you be able to release drawings or CAD |
Sorry that we will be unable to release all the CAD files/drawings and design drawing, because they are classified as confidential information.

| 7. I thought, maybe you would send me some Defi stickers for free. |
Defi logo stickers are not for free.

| 8. Will my gauge need Control Unit or Control Unit II ? |
Control Unit is Not necessary:
Racer gauge, DIN gauge, BF Tachometer (these operate as a stand-alone products).
Control Unit (part # DF01301) with a sensor set:
Defi-Link meter, Defi-Link Display, Step Graph (DF03501)
Control Unit II (part# DF05001, DF05002) with a sensor set :
Defi-Link meter, Defi-Link Display, Step Graph, Defi-Link BF series, *Defi-Link VSDX, *VSD concept
*For VSDX and VSD: Control Unit II (and sensor set) is required for oil temperature,
water temperature, oil pressure, fuel pressure and exhaust temperature.
Just for speedometer or tachometer, Control Unit II is not necessary.
Whether DF05001 or DF05002 depends on the number of cylinders and need for a rev adaptor.

| 9. Can you tell me my Control Unit II is previous version, or new ? |
Though previous version of Control Unit II (part # DF05001) and new Control Unit II (part# DF05002) look the same on front(6 illuminated buttons). But the number of white connections on back can help identify which. if you see
6 connections: Control Unit (part # DF05001)
7 connections: Control Unit II (part# DF05002)
We also have DF01301, which has non-illuminated 5 buttons on front and 5 white connections on back.

10. I cannot find the items /colors that I found in Japanese site.
When will they be available outside Japan? |
Not all items found in Japanese site are available in English site, in other words overseas.
For example, we do not have , BF tachometer in blue/white/amber with PSI reading,
Racer gauge in Celsius in blue/white/amber, BF imperial in blue, Din-gauge in any other than green.

| 11. Do you have any gauge in green? |
Currently, the gauge with green illumination we produce is DIN Gauge only.
We did offer Defi-Link meter with green LED illumination around the year of 2007.
But production of those gauges has been stopped and none is left in our stock.

12. Will Defi gauges work with my vehicle?
(this question is relavent to Question 13) |
Before installing it by yourself or have it installed, please see specifications below,
especially applicable speed pulse: http://www.defi-shop.com/product/vsdx/vsdx_spec.html.
Since vehicle specifications vary depending on the maker of vehicle, we are unable to obtain the information from where/through which wire speed pulse or RPM signals are sent out. But your dealer should know the answer.
We also believe that your dealer would be willing to assist your installation.

13. Do you have the wiring diagram for my vehicle?
I've talked to my dealer, and they would not let me have any of that information. |
We have following reasons that we are unable to obtain the wiring diagram for your vehicle for you.
1. Vehicle specifications vary by country (for Europe, US, Canada, Japan, Asia, Oceania model and so on).
2. The overseas model specifications are not obtainable in Japan.
Therefore, there is no way that we can get the wiring diagram for you.
We always recommend our customers to ask for professional installation,
because installation professionals have the information of wiring diagrams for most of vehicles in your country

14. How do I stop the continuous beep sound while the key is in the accessory position?
Is there any way to disable the continuous beep when the key is in the accessory position? |
We have following reasons that we are unable to obtain the wiring diagram for your vehicle for you.
1. Vehicle specifications vary by country (for Europe, US, Canada, Japan, Asia, Oceania model and so on).
2. The overseas model specifications are not obtainable in Japan.
Therefore, there is no way that we can get the wiring diagram for you.
We always recommend our customers to ask for professional installation,
because installation professionals have the information of wiring diagrams for most of vehicles in your country

| 15. How do I get and order the correct number of a repair part? |
Though sale of some of gauge parts (repair/optional parts) is offered at our official stores,
please place a repair/inspection service order at any of our official stores as shown in the link below,
before you rush to buy another one.
Until we are certain which part is really causing trouble,
we do not want you to spend your money on a wrong part number of Defi items.

| 16. I can repair on my own. So do you sell parts of Defi gauges? |
Unlike repair parts, parts of Defi gauges will not be ordered from Defi or our official stores/distributors.
We can only accept repair service orders directly through them.

17. My gauge was working just fine, and then its LEDs went off all the sudden.
The LEDs have gone off since then. |
Perhaps either or both meter wiring connector and DC source wiring
connector have been disconnected somehow like your vehicle hit/passed over a bump.
Please check each wiring connection again. Try these:
1.Free the jacks of meter wiring connector and DC source wiring connector.
2.Hook them again. You need to hear a click sound to indicate that the connection is promptly made.
If the problem continues, there might be a problem in your gauge.
You might want to place a repair/inspection service order. We recommend that
you bring it to the store you bought to find out which device needs to be repaired or replace it with a new one.
But please ask about the cost incurred to place a repair/inspection order

| 18. I'm visiting Japan. Can you tell me where to find Defi products in Japan? |

21. My fuel pressure gauge always reads from above 0 kPa.
After I turn the ignition off, its needle pointer stays above 0 kPa. |
It doesn't sound normal at all. When the key is in the accessory position, in which
the ignition is on but the engine is off, the fuel pressure is running. As a result,
the needle pointer of fuel pressure gauge should read above 0 kPa.
When the engine is turned off, the needle pointer gradually going back to 0 kPa.
For handling fuel lines, please ask the installation personnel/professional
to confirm that you have connected the fuel pressure sensor to Fuel feed pipe, not pipe.

22. My boost Racer Gauge is not reading properly.
It reads only inHg and not Boost. Maybe because my car has been spurcharged? |
Check if your car has a turbo-charged engine. If so, the boost gauge
should read above 0 psi . . . means that the boost gauge reads correctly
for turbo-charged engine. About the car with a supercharger, this too should read above 0 psi.
It might be that the boost sensor is attached between fuel regulator and surge tank.
If the problem continues, please send us email enquiry.

| 23. Is there any way to disable opening and closing ceremony? |
Opening / Closing ceremony cannot be canceled.

24. On DIN gauge, can you interchange each gauge,
or does it have to be 2 temperatures and 1 pressure gauge? |
Defi Din-Gauge is solid construction unit. It comes with 2 temperature gauges and 1 pressure gauge.

25. I'm having a hard time finding the Defi gauge I've been looking for. . .
Every store I've contacted has been of no help finding where to get. |
